2 Straight Men Get Married In Front Of Their Wives To Make Rain Fall [Photos, Video]

In what is a bizarre development, two straight men in an Indian village have married each other in a bid to persuade the “rain gods” to send rain to their area.

Sakaram Ahirwar, 35, and Rakesh Ahirwar, 32, took their vows in a traditional Hindu ceremony that over 300 people attended on August 3.

Among those in attendance were their respective wives and five children. The ceremony took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The villagers believed that by hosting such an unusual event, they would attract the attention of Indradev, the Hindu God of lightning, thunder, storms and rain.

They recalled that a wedding between two dogs held about two years ago apparently resulted in rain.

A village spokesperson, Ramesh Kumar Tomar, 61, said: “The people of our village believe that we never get rain until we perform an unusual event.”

However, there has been no rain so far since the ceremony was held. The ceremony was only symbolic and the two men returned to their respective families to resume their normal lives.
