5-year-old Blue Ivy Carter wore a $9-plus Mischka Aoki customized Butterfly dress to the Wearable Art Gala last weekend. Mischka Aoki, a luxury children’s clothing brand, worked with Beyonce’s team to create the custom made dress.
“One of Beyoncé’s stylists, Manuel Mendez, contacted us to create a custom-made dress for Blue for a special art gala, we were of course excited to work again with them,” a representative for the brand tells Yahoo Style.
They were instructed to “create a structured dress as walking art.” Handling it like the pros they are, the Mischka Aoki team turned right away to their “Her Royal Highness” dress which is from their spring/summer 2014 collection and can cost anywhere between $8,405 and $10,637.
This dress is a limited edition piece from Mischka Aoki’s exclusive Swarovski range. The fuchsia satin tulip minidress has a bejeweled neckline and an embellished skirt “drowning in exuberant flowers and thousands of Swarovski Crystals.”
And it definitely fits the “work of art” criteria; according to the website, it requires “hundreds of hours of painstaking handwork to complete.”
