It’s no secret that Bruno Mars is one of the biggest artists in the world. Ever since his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans, he’s been a mainstay on the charts with massive hits including ‘Just the Way You Are’, ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ and ‘Uptown Funk’.
Ans now he’s just equalled a Michael Jackson record with his new single ‘Finesse’.
YES. BRUNO REALLY IS NOW MATCHING RECORDS BY THE KING OF POP.
‘Finesse’ is the third single from Bruno’s hit album 24K Magic to go Top 10 in the US. It follows the album’s title track, which peaked at Number 4 on the Hot 100 and it’s follow-up ‘That’s What I Like’ which became Bruno’s seventh Number 1 in the US.
This is Bruno’s third album in a row to score three US Top 10 singles, making him the second artist in history to achieve the amazing feat. Only Michael Jackson has done this before. Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad all had at least four Top 10 hits each.
In fact, all of Bruno’s Top 10 hits have also gone Top 5, making him the only artist ever to score three Top 5 singles with three albums in a row. Michael’s Off the Wall spawned two Number 1s and two Number 10s so he just misses out on the feat.
Michael did score an incredible five Number 1 hits in a row with Bad though.
We are so lucky that both legends have provided us with such great music.
Bruno’s new record is amazing and we couldn’t be happier for him.
Here’s hoping that ‘Finesse’ ends up being his eighth Number 1!
