There are few celebrities, actually more than just few who joined military after gaining much success and fame through cinema industry. Let’s hear for some real passionate heroes of nation, who are not limited to just movie screens.

Johnny Carson


Johnny Carson was widely known for the “The tonight-show with Johnny Carson” which he did for almost 30 years and gained huge popularity. The multi-talented Carson was an actor, comedian, writer producer, actor and not to forget, a military servant. He served in Military from 1943 to 1945 in US Navy. But when a Forrestal asked Carson if he wanted to continue, he denied by saying he wanted to become a magician and did a card trick. As he found his talent to entertain and amuse people, he continued on exploring more on entertainment field.

One of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of rock music and undoubtedly the awesome rock singer and song writer, Jimi Hendrix is a famous face. As much as he is the hero of rock music and god for rock and roll lovers, he was a hero for nation too. He served in US Army in the year 1961 and was trained as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne division. Also, he had earned an honorable discharge the following year. However he chose to continue his musical career and we are highly thankful for all those musical treats.

Well, the name Jesse “The body” Ventura isn’t an unheard one for the wrestling fans, but besides being a wrestler he was also an actor, author, politician and commentator. Included in WWE Hall of fame, He has also appeared in movies such as “Predator “and “the running man” shortly after being a professional wrestler. And even before his wrestling career, he was a US Navy officer where he served from 1969-1975. Quite a career profile there!

That is very much an inspiring story, Hefner.

Known as an enduring cultural icon of masculinity through his roles in Dirty harry, Clint Eastwood has been critically exclaimed. Eastwood served US Army from the year 1951 to 1953.
