The Canadian rapper will release his fifth album in June, as revealed by Drizzy himself on Instagram. Drake was pictured wearing a jacket emblazoned with ‘Scorpion’ and ‘June Twenty Eighteen’.
While fans were at first wondering if the tease was related to a new single or album, Rolling Stone have since confirmed that Scorpion is the name of his next record. Scorpion follows 2017’s More Life playlist project, and the Number 1 album Views, released in 2016.
It is expected that Scorpion will include Drake’s two recent UK Number 1s on the Official Singles Chart, the nine-week leading God’s Plan, and the current chart topper Nice For What, which reached the top spot last Friday.
The Scorpion era is proving to be a huge one for Drake; the album already has two UK Number 1 hits, plus the success of God’s Plan led to him becoming the act with most weeks spent at Number 1 this millennium as a lead artist.
God’s Plan is so far the biggest single of the year based on sales and streaming data compiled by the Official Charts Company.
