The single was released only yesterday (June 21) yet in just a day it has earned over £200,000 through Artists For Grenfell, shifting 120,000 in combined sales. That goes on record as being the biggest opening day of any single in the last decade.
It also soared to the iTunes number one spot within two hours of it being made available to download at 8am.
The track features a host of artists including Stormzy, Robbie Williams, Paloma Faith and the London Community Gospel Choir.
Just a few hours later the video was unveiled, featuring footage of the singers recording their lines of the 1970s hit Bridge Over Troubled Water as well as heartbreaking footage of the burnt out tower block, the wall of tributes, and images of those affected by the tragedy.
The video has amassed over 350,000 views.
The full chart is revealed Friday June 23 from 4pm.
