How To Make Your Sweater Less Itchy

The weather is fast changing and the rain is coming faster than you can think. Just before we get to full rainy season when we will be often saddled with wet morning and cold nights and all we want to do is swaddle ourselves inside those heavy knit sweaters, this might be something you need to get done in anticipation of that time of the year. Perhaps there is this gorgeous sweater you love but it’s under your drawer due to the fact that it itches. But how do we end, itching upon itching and different skin irritation. This is very common with cardigan and sweaters but here is the solution to itchy sweaters….just treat it like your hair (apart from the freezing part though) with the following steps you can cure your itchy sweater

  • Take your sweater and soak in a bowl of cold water thoroughly mixed with a good shampoo or vinegar, leave for 30 minutes before rinsing it thoroughly.

  • Mix conditioner with water and soak your sweater for 1 hour then rinse thoroughly and spread to dry

  • When dried, place in a bag and take into the freezer overnight and it won’t itch again by morning. The conditioner helps to soften the fibers and freezing it helps prevent short fibers from poking out.
