Morgan Freeman Has Been Accused Of Sexual Harassment By Eight Women

Morgan Freeman has been accused of harassment and inappropriate behaviour by multiple women in a report by CNN.

“He kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear,” revealed one of Morgan Freeman’s alleged victims.

The women include production assistants and workers who interacted with Freeman on movie sets and entertainment journalists, including CNN’s own reporter Chloe Melas and a journalist from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In total, 16 women spoke to the publication: eight of the people interviewed identified themselves as victims, while eight others said they had witnessed the alleged misconduct.

One of the women was a production assistant on 2015’s Going in Style, who alleged that Freeman would rub her lower back or rest his hand there. He “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear,” she told CNN, adding that Freeman never succeeded as she would always do her best to move out of his reach.

Eventually, “Alan [Arkin, Freeman’s costar in the film] made a comment telling him to stop,” she said. “Morgan got freaked out and didn’t know what to say.”

Another woman who worked on a recent movie of Freeman’s told of an incident at the film’s wrap party.

“He was looking at my breasts, and I told him, ‘My eyes are up here,’” she recalled. “Then we went to take a group photo and he pressed himself up against me. It was inappropriate.”

In the report, CNN entertainment journalist Chloe Melas has also alleged that Freeman harassed her during the Going In Style press junket.

According to Melas, who was six months pregnant at the time, Freeman shook her hand, looked her up and down, and said: “I wish I was there,” and, “You are ripe.”

CNN reports that cameras recording the junket picked up Freeman saying, “Boy, do I wish I was there.”

Melas reported Freeman’s behaviour to CNN’s own HR department, who reached out to Warner Bros (the studio has since said they cannot corroborate this story).

As part of their investigation, CNN reached out to “dozens more people who worked for or with Freeman”. They have noted that some of the people they spoke to praised Freeman, saying that they never witnessed any inappropriate behavior.

“He was a consummate professional on set and in the office,” insisted one.

Freeman has yet to release an official statement in response to the accusations.
