Your anniversary is one, and Mother’s Day is certainly another – but it can be tricky to keep track, as the date changes every year.
Fortunately, this year Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, thereby making it a ‘Mothering Sunday’.
In the UK, Mother’s Day 2017 is being celebrated on Sunday, March 26.
In much of Europe, and the United States, the holiday is celebrated on Sunday, May 14.
The day is a celebration of mothers and the maternal bond and traditionally children give flowers, presents and cards to their mothers, and other maternal figures such as grandmothers, stepmothers and mothers-in-law.
The day is always on the fourth Sunday of Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday and usually in the second half of March or early April.
It is a day for families to show their appreciation for their mothers.
