This week, Kanye performed two shows at Madison Square Guard – where Pope Francis spoke himself last year in New York City – and the star has proven himself to be the merchandise king.
According to TMZ, Monday night’s show at the venue dubbed ‘the world’s most famous arena’ saw Yeezy pull in $780,000 in merch sales.
This beats the previous record – held by the Pope – by a staggering $240,000.
In 2015, Pope Francis sold $540,000 in branded gear, but it appears Kanye’s fans were more willing to spend.
The religious leader held mass at Madison Square Garden last September, almost 37 years after Pope John Paul II visited the same area.
Meanwhile, Kanye had a star-studded crowd for his final gig, with Kim Kardashian stepping out braless in a completely sheer metallic dress .
The flimsy number perfectly showcased the brunette’s stunning hourglass figure and with thigh-high silver boots it was definitely a show-stopper.
