Since Donald Trump became the President of the United States, people have been looking for more and more reasons to ‘troll’ and ‘roast’ the POTUS. Whether it is for his unique hairdo or because of his political tendencies, members on social media have been more than willing to turn the President into a meme.
However, Donald Trump’s latest tweet in regards to the disaster that was wreaked by Hurricane Harvey is generating a lot of hate online.
And the internet ripped into him.
Mr. Trump and the First Lady, Melania Trump, visited Texas on Tuesday to see the havoc and disaster that was caused by Hurricane Harvey.
However, the President was criticized for not actually meeting any of the victims of the tropical storm and also for not touring any of the devastated areas. But it was a tweet that Trump posted on Wednesday that really incited the anger and wrath of those online.
He tweeted a photo of him in a room looking over a map with the caption: ‘after witnessing first hand the horror and devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, my heart goes out even more so to the great people of Texas!’
A Twitter user named Ashley Feinberg posted: ‘this is the best photo they could find for ‘witnessing first hand.’’
A journalist by the name of Andrew Beatty offered his own point of view: ‘I traveled with the President yesterday. Personally, I would not claim to have seen Harvey’s horror and devastation first hand.’
Another by the name of Shannon Turner, tweeted a picture of Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barack Obama embracing those who suffered after a tragedy.
Others poked fun at the POTUS by claiming that they too have witnessed something, such as the Titanic, ‘first hand’ by merely posting a screenshot of the movie.
The best one probably goes out to libby watson who said that she witnessed the Grand Canyon first hand while tweeting a picture of the map to the Grand Canyon.
