Real Madrid have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Neymar as Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to sell the Brazilian this summer.
Madrid face the prospect of ending the season without a trophy under Zinedine Zidane and are already putting plans in place to sign new players.
Neymar is high on Madrid’s wanted list as the club view him as their long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo, who is weighing up whether to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Last week, Neymar was booed by his own fans in the 8-0 win over Dijonafter denying Edinson Cavani the chance to take a penalty which, if he converted, would’ve broken Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s record of 156 goals for the club.
Neymar would be keen on a move to Madrid and is understood to be unhappy with his current situation at PSG.
According to Goal, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has personally promised Neymar that he will allow him to join Madrid this summer.
But the report also claims that Neymar’s move will only get the green light if the Brazilian helps the club win the Champions League this term.
PSG coasted through to the knockout phase but must beat Real Madrid if they want to progress to the quarter-finals.
Neymar has been PSG’s star man since his world-record £200m move from Barcelona last summer, scoring 24 goals and registering 14 assists in 23 appearances.
