Rapper Diddy Declares Interest In Buying NFL Team Following National Anthem Protests

Popular American rapper, Diddy is ready to buy an NFL team, and it is all thanks to the ongoing national anthem protests in America.

Last season, quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a knee as the national anthem was being sang, and this sparked nationwide discourse; while many people supported his intent, others thought he was disrespecting the American flag. For initiating the #TakeAKnee protest, Kaepaernick was unable to find a team this season.

This season, many athletes took the knee to support to shed light on racial injustice, police brutality and other inequalities that affect people of colour in the United States. And this has pissed off President Trump, because no week passes without him exploding in a litany of tweets, threatening the players. He famously called the protesters “sons of bitches.”

Yesterday, Sports Illustrated reported that NFL owners were considering creating a rule that will make it mandatory for players to stand for the national anthem, and it is for this reason that billionaire rap guru Diddy has shown interest in buying a team where players would be free to protest racism in America.
