Stoke City have signed Augsburg defender Kostas Stafylidis on loan for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old left-back is Stoke’s third signing of the January transfer window, after Moritz Bauer, from Rubin Kazan, and Moussa Niakate, from Paris FC.
Stafylidis is returning to England after spending the 2014/15 season in the Championship, on loan at Fulham.
He is Paul Lambert’s first signing as Stoke manager.
“Having played in Germany himself, Paul Lambert is a keen observer of the Bundesliga and I know he has been impressed by what he has seen of Kostas in action for Augsburg,” Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes told Stoke’s official website.
Stafylidis will be in contention to make his Premier League debut at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
