True Blood actor Nelsan Ellis has died aged just 39.
The star, who played Lafayette Reynolds in the popular HBO horror-drama series, died from complications with heart failure his manager Emily Gerson Saines has confirmed.
She told the Hollywood Reporter: “He was a great talent, and his words and presence will be forever missed.”
Nelsan stared in True Blood from 2008 until it ended in 2014.
A spokesperson from HBO told the BBC: “We were extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Nelsan Ellis.
“Nelsan was a long-time member of the HBO family whose groundbreaking portrayal of Lafayette will be remembered fondly.”
