In the short track he also slams reports that he and wife Jada Pinkett Smith are getting divorced, rapping: ‘Stop the divorce rumors, and mind your damn business.’
On 22 May it was confirmed that Will would be performing the 2018 World Cup official song along with American singer Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istrefi, but ahead of that song’s release, the French Prince dropped another new track in which he reminds ‘everybody of who Will Smith is’.
Will shared the track on Instagram revealing that he is ‘gettin’ back in the studio’ and is ‘just warmin’ up’.‘
Twenty years of swag y’all just witnessed, let me remind everybody of who Will Smith is,’ he begins, ‘rappers make it rain, let that money hit you, if I throw my money up, s*** I probably kill a stripper’. ‘The ill-est, real-ist, big Will is down with the man in charge of where uncle Phil is,’ he raps before the video shows a montage of his summer blockbusters and he adds: ‘Everybody wanna do Will Smith numbers I don’t know if your life got that many summers.’
He then admits that he ‘got inspired, quickly I unretired’ and that the ‘the Fresh Prince just rewired’. ‘I’m an anomaly, I do drama or comedy, I can play Mohammad Ali or a white lady probably, still, 20 years of swag y’all just witnessed – stop the divorce rumors, and mind your damn business.’
Will’s 2018 World Cup song is thought to be ready for release on 25 May.
Nicky Jam’s manager Juan Diego Medina confirmed on radio that Smith and Nicky Jam were in Budapest putting final touches to the song which will come out this Friday.
