England Cricketer Ben Stokes Found not Guilty of Affray

Benjamin Andrew Stokes born 4 June 1991 an English international cricketer and former vice-captain of the England Test team. Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Stokes moved to northern England at the age of 12, where he learnt the game and began playing club cricket for local teams. He is an all-rounder who bowls right-arm fast-medium pace and bats left-handed. England cricketer Ben Stokes has been found not guilty of affray over a nightclub that saw him knock Ryan unconscious in the brawl who was also found guilty of the same charge, the fight happened several hours after England had played a one-day international against the West Indies at the County Ground in the city. He had been facing the charge after becoming involved in an incident outside of a Bristol nightclub last September, with footage appearing to show the 27-year-old punch both Ryan Ali and Ryan Hale. Stokes has maintained that he was acting in self-defence, while the prosecution had argued that Stokes was the aggressor in the fracas which had taken place in the early hours of the morning. The jury retired to come to a verdict earlier on Tuesday morning, and it found Stokes and Ali to be not guilty of affray.
