Four men charged for rapper’s death: XXXTentacion murder

The investigation into the murder of American rapper has seen some significant progression, with a grand jury in Florida now indicting four men on first-degree murder and armed robbery charges.
XXXTentacion – real name Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy – was shot and killed during a robbery in Deerfield Beach, Florida on 18 June.
He was 20. A panel in Broward County formally charged Dedrick Williams, 22; Michael Boatwright, 22; Trayvon Newsome, 20; and Robert Allen, 22 on Wednesday (18 July). with The Broward County Sheriff has now confirmed these charges.

Two of those men – Williams and Boatwright (who was apprehended last week) – have been arrested, while the other two remain at large. Suspects Dedrick Williams and Michael Boatwright. Police believe that it was Newsome and Boatwright – who were both masked – who approached XXXTentacion after blocking his car while he was exiting the Riva Motor Sports motorcycle shop.
The suspects intended to rob XXXTentacion of a Louis Vuitton bag which contained $50,000 (£38,400) in cash. A struggle ensued, before a number of shots were fired. The indictment names Boatwright as the person who fatally shot XXXTentacion.
Williams, meanwhile, was spotted in the motorcycle shop at the same time XXXTentacion was shopping prior to the incident. An employee at the shop identified Williams as a regular customer.
XXXTentacion was the target of a robbery. The suspect claimed to police that he was with other people at the shop, but that he didn’t know that they intended to rob the rapper. Police say that Williams was driving the vehicle which blocked in XXXTentacion prior to his murder. Williams stated that he wanted to tell the truth,’ a warrant filed in Boatwright’s case stated. ‘He stated he was fearful of being labeled a snitch when he went to prison.’
