Harry Kane Received Seven Votes At FIFA’s The Best Awards

Cristiano Ronaldo was the big winner at FIFA’s annual ‘The Best’ awards ceremony last night, but Spurs forward Harry Kane will probably be delighted to know he received seven votes in the race to be considered the best footballer in the world.

Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo won the Best Player gong at the glitzy awards bash in London for the second consecutive year after winning 43.16% of the votes cast by international managers, captains and media representatives.

You’d have thought that just about every person voting would have went for a top three of Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar, but it turns out seven members included Kane in their list.

The striker was voted third place by the British Virgin Island’s captain; by France captain and Tottenham colleague Hugo Lloris; the Bahamas coach and Wales manager Chris Coleman.

The Englishman also picked up two second place votes from the captain of Montserrat and the media representative from Cambodia, whilst the media representative from Vanuatu actually voted him the best player in the world from the past 12 months.
If I were Harry Kane, I’d be pretty pleased with that.
And i’d probably be considering a summer holiday to Vanuatu – he’d be treated like a king out there!
