Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez trusts criticism directed at the club’s campaign is due to those who are ‘jealous’ of their prosperity.
The Spain international indicated Madrid achieving their eighth progressive Champions League semi-last as evidence of their strength and how their less than impressive household season ought not be centered around.
“Many people are happy about our bad results,” Vazquez lamented to reporters after the match, as cited by Marca.
“It hurts them to see that we have reached eight (Champions League) semi-finals in a row and it creates envy with them.
“We must learn to live with these remarks and accept that this is what they want to focus upon.
“The penalty against Juventus? Of course it was a penalty, but it is being discussed more in Spain than it is in Italy.
“Bayern? They are a great side and James (Rodriguez) is a close friend of mine, but I hope they do not reach the final.”
