On Sunday a Colorado woman McKenna Denson speaks-out during church service publicly that former Mormon leader Joseph Bishop raped her in the 1980s,
She went to Arizon Church where Joseph Bishop who sexually assaulted her worship, during the church service she went straight to the pulpit and accused him.
Joseph Bishop is the former president of a Mormon missionary training center (MTC) in Provo, Utah. Denson claims Bishop raped her in a room at the MTC in 1984. She says she told local church leaders about the alleged assault many times over the years.
McKenna Denson was training as a missionary in 1984 in Provo, when she alleges Joseph Bishop, the Missionary Training Center’s president at the time, raped her in a basement room.
Then, a second man approaches her. They try to make her leave the pulpit. She declines, telling them to call the police. They later put their hands on her and she claims that they are assaulting her. Eventually, they make her leave the microphone.
Denson said she wanted to be there to warn others in that church. She said many in the congregation looked uncomfortable and shocked but adds that if she were still attending church and there was a sexual predator there, she would want to know.
Bishop has denied raping Denson. However, in an interview with police last year, he admitted he took Denson to a private room at the MTC and “asked her to show him her breasts, which she did.”
