This is the first picture of the eight-year-old girl stabbed to death during what police are calling a ‘domestic incident’
She has been named by West Midlands Police as Mylee Billingham.
Her dad, Bill Billingham, 54, has been arrested. He was treated for a stab wound to his stomach and is said to be in a ‘critical’ condition in hospital.
Earlier, West Midlands Police said he will be questioned in due course.
Just one hour before police were called, he had posted a picture of his daughter on Facebook alongside the caption: ‘Pitza on bed lv moo x’
Mylee, said to be an Ed Sheerhan superfan, was found with serious injuries at 9.15pm last night and was taken to hospital, but doctors couldn’t save her and she died a short time later.
Officers were called to Valley View in Brownhills near Walsall, Birmingham where they found the girl severely hurt and bleeding.
The suspect’s brother, Mark Billingham MBE, was reportedly a private bodyguard for Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise, and has completed 27-years with the SAS.
He is believed to have been a star on Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins.
The house is currently cordoned off while the police investigation continues.
The row of bungalows is occupied by mainly elderly residents. Bob Weir, 72, said: ‘I’m shocked and stunned. The first I heard of it was around 9pm last night.
‘The street was like something out of an American cop film, it was full of emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
‘The police knocked on my door and asked if I had heard anything from the house where it happened.’
Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the homicide unit, said: ‘We are treating this as a domestic incident and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the child’s death.
‘Our family liaison team are supporting the family of the little girl, who are naturally devastated by her death. Our thoughts remain with them.’
Mylee’s mum, Tracey Taundry, was heard screaming ‘he’s stabbed my baby’ by neighbours outside the bungalow last night.
Mrs Taundry is not believed to live at the address.
Floral tributes were left in the snow outside the property in Valley View.
One simple message read: ‘RIP Little Angel.’
A post mortem examination will take place tomorrow to determine a cause of death.
