On Monday A senior lawmaker of the main opposition Republican People’s Party ‘CHP’ resigned from his post in the Turkish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Ozturk Yilmaz, who is a lawmaker from eastern Ardahan province.
Ozturk claimed that the committee “has not served any purpose,” when speaking to reporters in the parliament.
Ozturk said; “I resign from my post in the Foreign Affairs Committee, which has not achieved any result.”
“I would continue to take the key interest in foreign affairs of Turkey”, said Ozturk.
CHP will assign a new member to the committee after the resignation.
