Russian, UN Diplomats Discuss Situation in Kosovo

On Friday Sergey Vershinin, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the UN interim administration mission in Kosovo Zahir Tanin met in Moscow.
Sergey VershininAccording to the Russian Foreign Ministry statement released after the meeting said that the diplomats discussed the issues of the Kosovar settlement and relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

The statement said; “The Russian side reaffirmed the importance of strict compliance with the provisions of UN Security Council resolution 1244, which remains in full force and remains a mandatory international legal framework for Kosovo settlement.” The sides also agreed that the UN interim administration mission in Kosovo plays an important role in providing stability in the region.
